The Lower Hudson Valley Perinatal Network is a state designated Comprehensive Prenatal-Perinatal Services Network working in collaboration and in coordination with the service system at the local level to improve perinatal health. All 4 counties in the Lower Hudson Valley region (Westchester, Rockland, Putnam & Dutchess) demonstrate significant racial and ethnic disparities in women and children’s health during and surrounding pregnancy, reinforcing the fallacy that these are wealthy counties without issues.
In 2004, the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital Regional Perinatal Center (RPC) at Westchester Medical Center was awarded a March of Dimes Chapter Community Service Grant to create the Lower Hudson Valley Perinatal Network.
The goal of the LHVPN is to make sure all babies are born healthy. Together we work to advocate for and educate consumers and professionals about maternal, child and family health. |
